Our Mission
The Fun Young Football League offers a safe and joyful approach to football for the entire Bahamas, including the Family Islands.
Our mission is to create a vibrant and exciting grass roots football program for ALL soccer enthusiasts in the Bahamas. We believe EVERYONE should have the opportunity to play, to enjoy the game, and to build lasting friendships. The FYFL prides itself on being inclusive, welcoming players of diverse nationalities, languages, ethnic backgrounds, and religions, including refugees and persons regularizing their immigration status.
FYFL matches have an exceptional record of player safety, with no serious injuries reported. We play all our matches according to internationally-recognized match regulations. We utilize experienced, credentialed referees, and all our matches are monitored by police security to ensure safety for fans before, during and after matches.
The FYFL league provides more opportunities, more teams, more matches, more excitement, more prizes, more fun, more fans!
How the FYFL is removing barriers to playing football in the Bahamas
We believe EVERY YOUNG PERSON deserves the chance to join a football community that is safe, joyful, and inclusive. Participation should be as simple as putting your name on a hand-written team list.
Too often, persons who can benefit most from playing football, face the highest barriers to accessing it. The FYFL is working to shift that balance, challenging:
- Longstanding systems that have prioritized complex written permission to organize fun matches;
- Costly fees for registration, training, uniforms and coaching; and
- Onerous and stringent documentation requirements.
If you are a young man aged 18+, you can join one of our existing teams, or form your own team with your friends.
Participation is COMPLETELY FREE. It's really that easy!
FYFL is focused on vulnerable individuals, promoting community connections for health and well-being
FYFL seeks to include the following vulnerable individuals:
- Persons living in extreme poverty or without housing;
- Persons who are orphans or who have been abandoned in the Bahamas with relatives while parents live in other countries;
- Persons who are ethnic and linguistic minorities;
- Persons who are migrants, seeking refugee status, or pursuing asylum;
- Persons who have Bahamas immigration regularization challenges; and
- Persons who were unable to complete formal education and therefore have literacy challenges.
FYFL development goals for the upcoming season include:
- Provide assistance with immigration challenges by providing access to legal assistance;
- Promoting anti-crime initiatives by keeping young men focused on positive sporting activities; and
- Creating a job search network to help persons find decent work.

We work closely with community football organizers and players to create an exciting grass roots approach to football in the Bahamas.
Our tournaments take place twice a year, in the fall and the spring. We usually include 16 men's teams, in a fast-paced series of matches with amazing prizes. Stay tuned for details by sending us an email or Whatsapp message.
